Default Bluetooth Issues

Starting about 2 weeks ago, I began having issues with the Bluetooth and my phone (HTC Droid Incredible). The problem is that I cannot receive or place a call on the first few phone calls. It seems to connect on the third or fourth try.

At first, I thought it might be my phone, so I started removing apps to troubleshoot the problem. I didn't find it, so I ended up doing a hard restart which essentially formats the phone's hard drive and starts from scratch. This didn't solve the problem either. So now I'm wondering if its the car.

Anyone else experience this?

A buddy of mine who has a Turbo as a demo is having a similar problem. His phone is an HTC Evo. Both phones are HTC with Android operating systems. Hmmm....

I had an issue the first time I paired with an HTC Hero. Acts like you described. I deleted the device from the car and repaired it. It works like a charm now. Connects immediately when the car is turned on. Another tip, if the car doesn't see the phone right away, say Hands Free, Bluetooth, change phones. It should find it and connect. This works even if you only have one phone paired.

I cannot get my Motorola Droid to pair at all. I know the BlueTooth is working because I can pair a headset with it.

May have to get the dealer involved...

Angry another HTC phone with BT issues...

I have an HTC Incredible that worked once initially paired but stopped working the next time I started the car. The car BT indicator shows connected and my HTC shows "Paired but not connected" and when I select "connect" it fails to connect.
So far I have:
- paired and unpaired the device on the phone (multiple times)
- paired and deleted the device from the car (multiple times)
- yelled and screamed at the phone and the car

My last car, 07 TL Type-S bluetooth was rock solid; I NEVER, EVER had any problems. I'm very frustrated and disappointed. I'm not sure yet if it's the car or the device; I'll continue researching and post any relevant updates.

Cheers!

Default Rooting didn't solve BT problems

I have since rooted my Incredible and still have the same problem. Searching through Google for this problem looks like most of the blame is placed on HTC phones.

Good luck and post any solutions.

I had an HTC Hero paired and operating perfectly for several months. I just replaced it with an EVO 4G. I initially had no issues until the latest HTC software update. Then it started connecting and disconnecting randomly. I deleted the phone and re-paired with the same result. But, I did notice that when it oringinally worked, the phone only paired as a phone with out the address book and call history. When it is not working, it paired with address book and call history. So, I went through the pairing process again and for some unknown reason it paired with out the address book and call history. It is now working like a charm. I am not sure what would cause it to pair with or with out the address book. All I know is when it pairs with out it, it works fine. So, my fix was to continue to pair the phone until it paired with out address book.

Same problem here with iPhone 4. Started only working intermittently. I'll try re-pairing as well. Thanks

I have the paired but not connected issue described above with my HTC evo 4G and the jvc stereo in my truck. Last phone worked fine. But this one I have to un pair, pair, connect , re connect, Bluetooth off, back on, put my right foot in, etc to get it to work.

I had the same problem with my HTC Rezound in my 2011 Regal. People would say my voice sounded garbled or like I was in a tunnel. After repairing without address book access it seems to work now. Not sure why...
