After having numerous problems with my 2011 CTX Regal ending last time with came adjuster valves being replaced and the oil life computer reprogramed, I took it for a 2,300 mile trip with no problems and gave me an average gas miliage of 31.893 mpg on 87 octane gas. This was averaging around 70 in a 65 and 75 in a 70 mph zones with mostly interstate highway driving. Everything worked flawlessly. I do hope it continues. I still get comments on the car where ever I go. ;)
My dealer has been excellent and would recommend them to anyone wanting to buy their products from a service standpoint. If you are in the Dayton, Ohio area I would recommend seeing Dave Arbogast Buick GMC!
I think maybe the Gremlin has been found and eradicated!!!
My Regal now has 23,000 miles on the clock.

I am having a small but annoying issue with the clock in my 2011 regal.
Carefully following the manual I can set it to the proper time but turn the car off and it reverts back to one hour earlier. I've tried everything I can think of. Any suggestions?

I have seen various posts about the issue of trunks opening on their own. The usual initial conclusion is this must be caused by accidentally pressing the trunk release button on the remote. I thought so too, and initially attributed the problem on my 2011 Regal to this. I realized this was not the problem one night when I was awakened with the panic alarm sounding, the trunk open and my keys on the dresser - unable to have been pushed accidentally. This was the only time the panic alarm sounded when the trunk opened on its own, by the way. Since then the dealerships has tried
1) replacing the trunk switch
2) reprogramming the electronics
3) giving me new remotes
4) changing the frequency of the remote signal to rule out some other device was setting off mine.
5) installing a 2-second hold on the trunk release button to tule out accidental pushing of the fob
6) installing a 2-push on the trunk release button to rule out accidental pushing of the fob yet again

None of these things affected the problem at all. The trunk would open seemingly randomly intermittently when the car was parked and locked. It sometimes took 8 weeks for the problem to recur - but it always did. After 2 years of the dealership and the GM field engineer (who took over the case from the dealership), and 11 instances of the trunk opening on its own, GM replaced my 2011 Regal with a new 2013 Regal. Paul Meade, the GM field engineer said GM was seeing this problem across a line of GM vehicles, not just mine. I was told by Lekeia Williams in the GM Executive Office Department, that while the problem was across a line of GM vehicles (it was never specified what exactly the line was), GM was not seeing this problem past model year 2011. Ten days after I got my new 2013 Buick Regal Turbo from GM's adjustment, the trunk on the 2013 Regal opened on its own. The dealership has installed a work around - a switch that disables the solenoid so I can totally prevent the trunk from opening. But sadly, GM seems totally unable to figure out what is causing this problem or to provide an actual fix for it. When GM replaced my 2011 Regal with the 2013 Regal, I was told by Lekeia Williams that she was told that GM could not solve this problem. So it persists over more than 2 years with 2 different Regals with GM no closer in understanding than it was 2 years ago. The last thing GM wanted to do was totally remove the trunk release button from my remote and see if the problem still occurred. To me that is like going onto step 7 of a troubleshoot and then going back and providing another alternative for step 1 of the troubleshoot, when step 1 has already been determined to not be the problem. I told GM they could try this on the 2011 Regal I returned to them, instead of using me as a guinea pig. I have not heard back from them.

Anyone had issues with the brake pedal and or parking brake not disengaging on their Buick Regal 2011 CXL?

I have a Regal CXL Turbo 2011 which GM brought in from Germany, since the North American production lines weren't in place at the time of purchased.

Problem I'm referring to happened twice in the last 96hrs. First time I brought it to the dealer and they couldn't find anything wrong with it. Just happened again (48hrs after initial event) and had roadside assistance bring the car to my dealer.

Wondering if anyone else has experienced the same problem and what was the outcome.

Thanks in advance to all who reply.

Marc.

When booking my appointment to have this fixed, the dealership service rep stated that there is an issue with the touchpads. Hope this helps anyone else with the same issue:
Condition/Concern

Some customers may comment on any of the following conditions:
• Unwanted opening of the liftgate or trunk while the vehicle is parked and unlocked. If this condition occurs when the vehicle is locked, the liftgate or trunk will not open.• Liftgate or trunk will not open when pressing the touch pad (exterior release switch). The technician may determine that they are unable to duplicate these intermittent conditions. The vehicle may exhibit these conditions only when moisture is present at the rear liftgate or trunk release switch. The condition will most likely occur after the vehicle is exposed to rain, snow or a car wash.
These conditions may be caused by corrosion of conductive materials within the exterior release switch due to moisture and/or road salt. The corrosion may cause the switch resistance to be below the level necessary to activate the liftgate or trunk release. Severe corrosion may cause permanent increases in the resistance and cause the switch to become inoperative.
• If any DTC(s) are set, diagnose and repair the condition that caused the DTC. Refer to SI.• If DTC(s) are not set, first verify that the other inputs (interior switch or remote transmitter) will open the liftgate or trunk. This will verify the latch and control functionally. If the other inputs function correctly, inspect the point where the wires enter the exterior liftgate or trunk release switch for corrosion. If corrosion is present or the switch resistance is below 100K ohms when it is not pressed, replace the exterior release switch.

I've been looking around to see what everyone is doing for their suspension setups, and have been wanting to do mine for quite some time (the stock ride is just too soft). I almost pulled to trigger on some Eibach springs, but am worried about OEM strut life/wear.

I saw that Blistein/Eibach offers a full coilover suspension for the Insignia that looks like it would fit the bill. From my internet research, it seems like those on BMW forums have had good luck with the setup on their cars.
Has anybody done full coilovers on their Regal? and what do you think of the kit? (Bilstein B12 Pro Suspension Kit (46-188793), see link below)
