2011 Buick Regal: pre production model steering issues

According to some recent reviews and test drives. While the 2011 Buick Regal is being marketed as a sports sedan. What it lacks is a responsive enough steering to give the driver enough confidence to actually push the car. From early reports it feels sloppy and response is very sluggish. Even on the more sporty turbo model it still lacks in that department. According to Buick engineers this will be improved though come its North American release.

hopefully they correct this pretty soon. seeing as its scheduled to be released in a few months. is the steering electronically controlled? it just might be something wrong with the software if it is.
lexus has an issue with their electronic controlled steering as well. it was supposed to be self correcting. but it wouldnt respond quick enough. i hope its not the same issue with the regal.
Apparently the electric steering on the 2011 Mustangs isn't quite as "crisp" as one would hope. Seems to be a common thing.
That's usually what happens when you try to automate too much on a car. What happened to the driver being responsible for driving the car. Not the other way around. Now everything is controlled by a seperate computer which is usually where the issue stems from.
You're right and its a wonder that this hasn't been in the limelight before the Toyota acceleration thing. Volvo had a recall in 2004, I think is was, for ABS modules needing "software updates".

Its because everyone is getting very lazy and wants the car to do everything for them. One of the cars i drive is a 1995 model and it accelerates, stops, and turns when i want to. No need for the car to do it for me.
