This review is pretty old but I haven't seen it posted here. Its a side by side specs comparison between the 2011 Buick Regal and one of its main competition.

That Sonata has come a long way, just to be compared to the Regal. Hyundai has to be the most improved player in this industry over the past 10 years.

Yes they've come a long way. But you have to admit the 2011 Buick Regal is a major improvement over the recent years of Regals.

I dont know I would ever buy a Hyundai product. Just never been too impressed with what they have to offer. The Buick has been a trusted name in my family for some time. I still remember riding in my dad's old 77' Buick Regal.

Ride quality doesn't even come close with the Sonata, and the build quality is better with the Regal as well. I will keep buying American thanks!

in this instance youre actually buying german. hahaha. but i know what you mean. since the regal is a carbon copy of its opel brother except for the exterior. it rides, feels, drives like a german car.

the sonata is made in america and has the turbo version available NOW. the regal turbo is promised sometime in the future. i test drove one and thought it was quite nice. sticker was about 29K - fully loaded with everything except navi. certainly a contender for the regal.

The new Sonata is good looking. It's statistics match up favorably with the Regal. In fact, on paper, the Sonata might be the way to go. However, after you see, feel, touch, and drive both of them, I think the Regal is clearly the higher quality car. I wouldn't call anyone an idiot for going with the Sonata though. Especially if you have a couple of long legged teenagers and want more room in the back.

Come on now. The Sonata isn't even in the same class. Check this car rankings out from Newsweek. They put the Regal in the upscale midsize class and placed it at #2 out of 21 vehicles. They placed the Sonato in the affordable midsize class.
