2011 Heated Seats Issue

My 2011 Buick Regal Turbo, has started having problems with the driver's side heated seat. It will turn on and heat for 1 minute and 13 seconds (on high), then it will shut off automatically. I press the button again, and it will heat for 1 minute and 13 seconds, and then automatically shut off AGAIN.
Any suggestions?
Anyone else having this problem?

I have the same issue as others with 2011 Regals. Both seats "turn on" for 1.5 minutes and then off on their own. Tech said the circuits were open due to broken elements. They quoted me $1630 to repair. That sounded astronomical to me. What have others no longer covered by the warranty paid?

Thanks,
LROY76

Hey Iroy76,

I’m sorry to hear that you are also experiencing this concern with your heated seats. I can completely understand how unexpected repair costs can be frustrating. When you received the quote for the repair, was this at a certified GM dealer? I would be more than happy to look further into this concern and get you in touch with a preferred dealer in your area. If interested, Please send us a private message including your VIN, mileage, and full contact information.

Fourth Time

We have a 2011 Regal which is a great handling and riding car. Purchased new and taken care of. Unfortunately it will be our first and last new GM product. They don't stand behind the product. Here's the list: Heater core, thermostat, drivers heated seat inop for the fourth time since they keep installing the same poorly engineered part (now out of warranty), axle seals, 2 tire pressure sensors, and a camshaft solenoid valve. Dealer says they'll help us out and fix the seat for $300. I can buy the inferior part online for $38. Big help. I'm done. If you can fix your own car, keep your tools ready. If not, keep your wallet and patience ready. I'll never take this car back to the dealer, even if they'll fix it for free. They do more harm than good.
I've got a 2011 with the same problem. Is it the module every time?

The dealer is too expensive for something so simple. I'd rather take my chances on replacing at home. I've restored a classic Chevy from the ground up 100% myself, so this should be child's play.

Does the BCM need reprogrammed, or is it simply plug and play?
In my case, at least this time, it's the seat back grid. Plug and play. Remove the leather, peel the old one off, and stick the new one on.

The heated seat problem is very common. My driver side doesn't work. There are kits available on the internet to fix it yourself,

Heated seats were a problem in most of them. there is a recall for it, check your dealer.
The heat / A/C has a "Blend door problem" & it's expensive to fix if you have a dealer do it.
The radio could be sent in to get fixed.
Join a Jeep forum & look there. Many people have had similar problems.
The window regulators are a problem too.
2011 Buick Regal Turbo Heated Seats

I purchased a used 2011 Buick Regal Turbo back in September 2015 from a local dealer. I live in SC. It did not get cold here till the 3rd week in November. I hit the button to turn on the heated seats and guess what, no heat!!! I see from this forum this is a common problem with this vehicle. Since my car is out of warranty I called the dealership to inquire about the problem. They made me an appointment and asked me to bring the car in. Took the car today and they wanted $105 to diagnose the problem and then told me if it was the heating module it would be $600 for the drivers seat and almost $1300 for the passenger seat. I almost fell out of the chair. This car is not even 4 years old no way should it be having these kinds of expensive repairs. Has anyone been able to repair this problem themselves?
2011 Buick Regal CXL 26,781 4 years old

I also purchased a used Buick Regal 2011 in September of 2015 privately and the drivers heated seat did not work. This vehicle was never driven in the winter so I believe the original owner never knew it did not work. This vehicle has only 26,781 km and 4 years old ... I contacted GM Dealership and the Corporate office and was told they could not help me.OUT OF WARRANTY. This is the first North American car I have ever owned and it left a bad taste in my mouth; especially since it appears to be a common problem. It cost me over $500.00 to enjoy the comfort of heated leather seats.

I would have expected better service from GM.....

Had the same issue with my 2011 Buick Regal CXL RL6 2.4L: Driver's seat heater switching itself off after 1 min. 13 sec.
Replaced Driver's Seat Heater Module (GM Part #13502042) myself. I had to go to the dealer service department to have the part programmed to the car. Total cost: $328. Cdn.
Works fine now. Old module has a burned out pin.
I have a 2011 too. No problem yet, but I'm glad I got an extended bumper to bumper warranty. Glad that Your problems will all be solved. Must be those German parts.
Front/Rear Seat Heater Module (Part #13502042) is Made in China.

Hi- Yes - exactly the same problem here. I have had the seat replaced (under warranty) for the same issue once before. THe dealership wants $500- $600 to repair it now that the warranty has run out.
Seat Heaters

I have a 2011 Buick Regal with the drivers side seat heater inop while under warranty. Dealer fixed it. Then it went out again within a year and after the manufacturers warranty ended but still had certified pre-owned warranty. Dealer said it wasn't covered. Asked if anything covered under CPO warranty, that's another story. So driver side inop since then and just this past winter tried passenger seat heat and same thing, inop. Is GM going to issue a recall on this problem? Seems a lot of people have this issue. What about anyone know of any troubleshooting and online parts?

Thanks
I just received a recall notice for the heated seats on my 2011.
I just purchased a 2012 Regal GS used, and it obviously has no warranty any more. Is the heated seat module easy to repair yourself? There is now way I am taking it to a dealership for repair, so scratch that idea off the list.

Any thoughts?

Thank you for posting the part number... now I will find it and change it out myself. I'm all for people making money but when the part keeps failing over and over. Shame on you GM!
Hello, I'm driving a 2011 Buick Regal with 120,000 miles on it. I bought it used, but just found out that the driver side heated seat isn't working. Is this under a recall or warranty of some type? If not is it $350 or $600 to fix?

Thank you
My driver heated seat has not worked since I bought it at 30k miles. Mine will stay on for about 45 seconds. I had no idea it was so expensive to repair. I have 90k miles now so I'll leave it be!!
