Perhaps I am in the wrong thread with this post, but I am hoping someone has some ideas on this. I bought a 2013 Buick Regal GS back in December 2012, AFTER test driving three Audi's first. That's how much I originally loved this Regal. Now, despite being a staunch GM guy, I really wish I had bought one of the Audi's, ANY one of the Audis. I've gone from loving my Regal GS to loathing it, and it has less than 4,000 miles on it. Did I get a lemon? You tell me:
With 500 miles on it, it started missing badly as my wife and I were on our way out of town. Trip ruined, our first trip back to the dealership and about four days in the shop ended up with a replaced solenoid. initial problem solved....many more to follow as I would shortly find out.
With about 2,500 miles on the car, I started having all sorts of issues. The front brakes began squeaking. The radio/navigation screen would reboot for no reason (like a PC rebooting itself) right in the middle of listening to the radio. The car also developed what I thought was a suspension rattle in the left rear of the car. Since Day 1, the car has also been exceptionally noisy and raspy on start up (so much so that other people would ask what was wrong with my car). Worst of all, at about 2,500 miles, the car started hesitating noticeably on acceleration. I'll add to this by saying that I am a partner at a CPA firm in Michigan, the dealership where I bought the car is 30 minutes out of my way from home and 60 minutes from my office AND it's currently tax season so my time is at a premium right now and having an unreliable new car is becoming a problem. I tried running premium in it even though the dealership told me I didn't need to, but that didn't fix the hesitation problem.
Finally after another 1,000 or so miles, I'd had enough and took the car back to the dealership. After having it for a week, they replaced both cam shaft actuators, replaced the front brake pads, upgraded the software in the radio, secured a ride control sensor (the apparent cause of the rattle) and claim that they "didn't notice any hesitation upon acceleration when they test drove it for 10 minutes". So, of all the issues I brought it in for, the one of most concern they didn't even really attempt to address. No call back to ask more questions or anything. I just got the standard "we couldn't recreate the issue".
I asked the service tech point blank if we were approaching the "lemon" threshold with all the work they had to do on my new car. The service tech told me these were "common" service issues with the new 2013 Regals. REALLY? Common service issues? My car's been out of service for over two and a half weeks, has less than 4,000 miles on it, runs like crap and cost me $38,000?
So, I now have my car back from the dealership for the second time. It STILL hesitates and is STILL noisy on start-up. I'll give it until after tax season and then we're going to have a serious discussion about them taking this car back if they can't fix it right.
Anyone else run into similar issues with a new Regal GS or Regal with a turbo engine in it? I am particularly interested in hesitation issue because it clearly hesitates intermittently on acceleration, yet the dealer claims that didn't observe the "phenomenon". I've tried everything I can think of to diagnose the problem to no avail. So frustrated! I LOVED this car and raved about it to all my co-workers. Now I HATE it! I am SO disappointed in Buick for putting 20 inch chrome rims on an unreliable turdbucket and not REALLY seeming to care that one of their customers has an issue. Very very disappointed and very frustrated in the time I have spent trying to get this car fixed to the way it should have been running all along.
If anyone has some of the same symptoms occurring and has found a fix for the hesitation, please let me know. It's obviously not the cam shaft actuators.
