Ive got a 2016 regal gs with 80k miles. Purchased it in the spring time so i dont know if it had this issue previousily or not. Now that its getting cold when i first start it ill hear a ticking type noise that goes away as it warms up. Its also starting having more of an issue starting now to. Takes longer turning over to start. No check engine light on either. Anyone have any suggestions?

I have 2013 Buick Regal Turbo FWD with the LHU. I have 165,000 miles on it as of today. Some of the ticking might be injectors or the mechanical high pressure fuel pump. Or it could be "cold start piston slap."
I use a 100W silicone pad heater on the oil pan. It helps pre-warm the engine. I use it in combination with a thermostat controlled outlet to prevent extreme hard starts when it's below 20F. At 6.3 qts of oil it isn't going to overheat. With there being a oil to coolant heat exchanger, warming one fluid should help warm everything. Could probably go larger than that if you'd like.
