I have a 2011 Buick Regal Turbo that I regret purchasing because of frequent rattles throughout the vehicle. I called the GM customer service number and was put in touch with a district rep. Each time a new rattle develops, the rep tells me to take it back to the dealership. I bought a new vehicle so that I wouldn't have to waste my time running back and forth to the service dept. My car was back at the dealership today for the loudest/most annoying rattle. It started rattling again on the way home. Other than returning to the dealership on a regular basis, what can I do to make this right? Thanks!

Was your car built in Germany or Oshawa, Ontario? I have owned a German built Regal since July 2010 and no rattles or service problems. This Regal is my 26th new car and the best I have owned.

Sorry to learn about your rattles. Speaking from experience (previous automobiles) I can understand how annoying these noises can be.

Unless you yourself know the specific cause and how to fix the symptoms, all you can do is keep taking it back to the dealership. It is a cost of time on your end, but each time you take your Regal to the dealership, they should be noting the problem. Just make certain that the service writer or manager actually starts a work order (ticket), noting the your concern(s). If the problem is not resolved at the conclusion of any visit, contact GM customer service. Each time you contact customer service, it will be noted that you called regarding your concern. Most likely, if not already, a case will be developed. Again, I know it is a cost of time on your part, but one way or another, something will get accomplished.

Thankfully I have not experienced similar symptoms. My Regal is quite solid. I have experienced problems with brake pulsation, however. I will not bore you with the details, as this is your thread.

All I can state at this point is good luck. Let us know whether or not this gets resolved.

Interesting question...mine was assembled in Oshawa, Ontario. Perhaps I should have purchased a BMW instead;) Seriously, I hope Buick can fix the problems soon because I'd really like to be able to say my Regal is my best new car too. Thanks for the quick response!

Thank you for the words of encouragement! I will continue to follow-up with the dealership (which thankfully has a top-notch service dept) and the district rep. Yes, I had a case opened. I'll just keep adding to the file and try to be patient. Other than the rattles, I love the car...it's a love-hate relationship right now though. Good luck with your brake issues!

AZ Lemon Law Advice

I am headed to Buick for the 3rd Saturday in a row for persistent rattle issues, a leaking water pump, and a recall. Due to the outstanding customer service in the sales and service departments at Quebedeaux Buick in Tucson, I was willing to trade in my lemon for a 2012 demo if GM was willing to contribute to the difference in cost. It's now been 2 weeks and the answer from GM is still "No" (the standard answer from my district specialist, Rasheed). I was willing to give Buick a second chance, but given GM's unwillingness to address my concerns, I feel I have no option but to go the Lemon Law route. Does anyone have advice on how to proceed? Do I need to hire an attorney? Thanks!

It's weird, I test drove a base Regal with no rattles and a Turbo (not a GS), which had rattles. Are they built in different countries?

I've had a German built T05 since last October and not had any issues, other than a belt tensioner and the Radio Volume fluxuation issue.

My Regal is a Canadian model. Hopefully they've worked the quirks out of the assembly line by now.

I had the belt tensioner issue as well. And after 3 days at the dealership, the rattles are worse than ever, so it's going back to Buick on Monday.

Mine is a 2011 Turbo built in Germany. The only rickety/noise I experienced was from dashboard's glossy black trim. Fixed this by taking all the panels off and applied soft electrical material tape to all their backing. Worked, now a quiet ride overall!

Sorry about the rattles in your regal. Hopefully the dealer will resolve your issue. Maybe the Buick Customer Rep on the forum can give some assistance. (hint,hint)

Matt, thanks for offering to review my case. After almost three weeks since my original request for GM assistance on the trade and my Regal being @ the dealership for a total of 8 days in the past 2 weeks, I was told that I SHOULD have an answer from GMa today. If that's not the case, I will contact you for advice on my next course of action. Thank you!

I talked with both my district specialist and his supervisor yesterday. I was given the std response that the rattle is being fixed and that I should bring it back to the dealership if it happens again. Hopefully Matt from Buick Customer Svc (ref previous post) will be able to help w/my trade-in assistance request that has thus far been denied.
Thanks again to everyone who has offered advice via this forum and to Quebedeaux Buick for their patience & professionalism over the past 10 months!

GM has lost a customer for life. I just traded my Regal in on a 2013 VW CC. Thanks again to all of the wonderful folks @ Quebedeaux Buick...sorry, but GM just cost you a sale.
