I'm really bad at changing tires...have any of you purchased an aftermarket car jack to hoist your Buick or whatever car you drive in case of those days of flat tires?
I have a very good 3 ton jack at home for whenever I need to change tires on my cars. On the road though I just use the stock jack and in a worst case scenario I carry that slime that temporary plugs any small holes in your tire and lets you limp it home safely. That kit is pretty user friendly and not too expensive. Thankfully I never had to use it.
LOL, that is a good approach as well. I always keep a hydraulic jack in the trunk. Makes life a lot easier and the job much faster when you are stuck in snow or rain having to change a tire. Unfortunately flat tires always happen to me.
id rather rely on myself instead of caa. dont get me wrong i still have caa in case of really big emergencies but for the amount of time it takes them to get there i can change out for flat tires already. also theres a limit to how many times you can call them in a year before they start charging you extra.
For me it depends on the weather. Would you really want to change a tire in a blizzard? In that case or if it is pouring rain I would leave it up to the guys we pay to do it. I mean, CAA isn't free, so you may as well use it.
