It drives me nuts that I have to scroll through each and every song/artist/playlist. Is there anyway I can skip to a specific letter like you can when using the phonebook?

You can press the scroll bar on the left-hand side to the approx spot where that letter would start; this works with nav lists too. Otherwise haven't found a better way yet.

are you using a touchscreen? my 2011 doesnt have a touchscreen

If you spin the selector knob quickly for a short time, it should start to scroll by letter. Then when you get to the letter category you want, stop and go from there.
