How long is your daily commute and what is your mpg? Decent looking car too!
That is nice to have a free charging station so close to home. How long does it take to charge?Just over 30 miles round trip, 2-3 days a week for me. The wife will drive it the days I'm not. She is about 40 round trip. Free charge station walking distance from the house too! If I only drive it a few miles I top off at home. If it needs more than that Ive been charging for free and getting a little exercise.
Right now I'm at 115mpg. It will get better too. Last Saturday had a half day at work, then 100 miles roundtrip on expressway. No time to recharge inbetween so the expressway was all on gas bringing my lifetime mpg down a lot.
That is awesome. I am still pretty interested in the Volt and real curious if the technology takes off. It seems to make more sense than the hybrids, especially since battery technology continues to improve. I was surprised by "Sport Mode". The Volt runs pretty good and seemed to handle pretty well too. My test drive was not that far, but I enjoyed the test drive. One month in it now and still VERY happy.
Drove 116 miles yesterday with 113 of it on free electric(had a partial charge mid-day).
30 day report from Onstar says total miles 1050, electric miles 993 vs gas miles 57.
744 mpg. Combined gas&elec is 120 MPGe.
Less than 1.5 gallons of gas used in the last month![]()
Played with Sport Mode a few times. Just like a tune change. Little car moves pretty good
Free charging is goodYup - Free 240Volt charge station is going in the 19th for me, thanks to my electric company. I will still be charging down the street at the free charge station as much as possible (until they kick me out). My city is putting in 2 free charge stations soon!
Up to just over 2000 miles - still havent added any gas.
Going to a Volt factory tour this week !
