Buick Verano Turbo to Get More Potent Engine With 250-HP

When Buick debuted its new Verano compact luxury car at the Detroit Auto Show, it announced a 177-hp standard model as well as a Turbo version. No specific numbers on the Verano Turbo were available, but Buick did say it would use the same 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder as found under the Regal. That being said, it was easy to assume a similar output of 220-hp.

A leaked dealer brochure has now revealed that the rating will be a solid step higher, ranking the car at 250-hp, delivering a 0-60 mph time of just 6.5 seconds.

That more powerful engine is certain to find its way into the rest of the Buick lineup as well, with the Regal then set to get a boost in output. And with a 250-hp Regal Turbo encroaching on Regal GS territory, look for more power from that model in the future as well.
