We bought a 2011 Buick Regal CXL Turbo from GO Buick GMC Park Meadows, Lone Tree, CO on 30 June, 2011. We owned our first Buick Regal in 1980.

ON 07/01/11: We we returned the above referenced Buick Regal Turbo to GO Buick GMC Park Meadows, Lone Tree, CO 80124 for a vehicle inspection.

We were concerned about engine rattle noise and erratic idling between 10,000 and 30,000 RPM without touching the accelerator upon starting, both cold engine and and starting in between routine errand stops throughout the day. I identified this problem as dangerous and the vehicle seemed unsafe to drive.

We also complained the vehicle nearly stalled and accelerated slowly at full throttle when entering the freeway or attempting to pass at speeds of 55 to 60 MPH. I identified this problem as also dangerous.

We did not leave the car for repair as we were told by the service department that the engine idle performance should improve after the computer adjusted to the gasoline, the break in period, and that engine lag was normal for a turbo engine.

ON 07/18/11: We left the Regal with GO Buick GMC Park Meadows, Lone Tree, CO for:

Defective navigation screen,

Defective driver side windshield washer sprayer and

Vehicle inspection for frequent engine rattle upon starting and erratic idling between 10,000 and 30,000 RPM without the accelerator during cold and frequent stops throughout the normal business day the car would lunge when placing in drive or reverse upon starting.

I again identified this problem as dangerous and that I had scraped both the front and rear fenders in parking garages, parking lots and at home due to the car lunging forward or backwards when putting the car in drive or reverse. And we had numerous near miss accidents due to this problem.

On this visit I restated to the service manager how dangerous this vehicle seemed to be to drive. He stated they had to buy back another 2011 Buick Regal Turbo from an elderly customer for the same problem and hoped he could resolve our problem.

Upon picking up the car:

The navigation screen was replaced,

The windshield washer was permanently mounted and could not be repaired and they inspected the vehicle and checked the engine and updated the computer software. And identified erratic idling was a know issue to Buick and was repaired by the update and would otherwise not be able to be repaired.

ON 02/18/2012: I returned the vehicle to GO Buick GMC Park Meadows, Lone Tree, CO for: Oil change, winter floor mats and Vehicle inspection for frequent engine rattle upon starting and erratic idling between 10,000 and 30,000 RPM without the accelerator during cold and frequent stops throughout the normal business day the car would lunge when placing in drive or reverse upon starting.

Upon picking up the car: The oil was changed and the vehicle was inspected and identified erratic idling would not be able to be repaired at this time and should go away on its own.

ON 06/30/2012: I returned the vehicle to GO Buick GMC Park Meadows, Lone Tree, CO for: Vehicle inspection for frequent engine rattle upon starting and erratic idling between 10,000 and 30,000 RPM without accelerating when starting the car during cold starts, warm starts and hot weather starts randomly for the past year. and hot days up business day the car would lunge when placing in drive or reverse upon starting.

I again identified this problem as dangerous and that I wanted to return the car for a refund or replacement.

I told the service writer that we had scraped and dented the vehicle six times in the past year in parking garages, parking lots and at home due to the car lunging forward and backwards when putting the car in drive or reverse. And numerous near miss accidents due to this manufacturers defect.

We scheduled return visit for 07/02/12 to attempt to resolve this problem once and for all before more property is damaged or injuries and fatalities result due to this defect.

ON 07/02/12: I left the car at GO Buick GMC Park Meadows again and described the issues of frequent engine rattle upon starting and random erratic idling between 10,000 and 30,000 RPM without accelerating when starting the car under all conditions and times of day.

I told him wanted to return the car because it is unsafe to drive with random self acceleration, a defective driver side windshield washer sprayer and defective mats that unclip while driving. These problems are all serious safety hazards.

I told him the car was scraped and dented the vehicle six times in the past year in parking garages, parking lots and at home due to the car lunging forward and backwards when putting the car in drive or reverse with numerous near miss accidents due to these manufacturer defects. I left the car at the dealership as it is too unsafe to drive.

ON 07/03/12: The service department called and said there was nothing they could do yet because they need a case number from GM before they can do anything because the defects caused damage to the vehicle. I called 866-790-5600 at 09:00 and spoke with Reeby and was told I had to speak with another department.

Reeby called me back at 9:30 to tell me my case number is 71-1083514346, my PAR Case Number for reference for when someone from their department gets in touch with me.

I called the dealership service department back at 4:00 p.m. The service manager went home early so the service writer did not know what to do.

ON 07/05/12: No response yet. My vehicle is still at the dealership. In good faith we expect to return this car for a full refund or replacement.

Here in NY there is a lemon law...three strikes for the same issue and they have to replace the car. It is unfortunate you are having these issues and it would piss me off to no end if I had the same problems..over and over and over. I can hear my wife now "told ya not to buy an American car" I would be picketing the dealer :(

With 5k on my turbo..so far so good. I love the car and find very little of them on the road. I have a unique and uncommon vehicle.

I wish you the best and keep pressing for results. Just curious...your car should have been manufactured in Germany. I purchased my 2011 as a leftover in Feb 2012 for that very reason. I wanted a German built car with all the bugs out before they moved operations to Canada.

so you start the car, apply brakes, put into gear and veh lunges forward? something doesnt sound right, i highly doubt the dealer was able to duplicate the issue because if they did they would have defenetly done something.
maybe you should go to a different buick dealer for a second opionion and see what they tell you.
