Hello from Breinigsville, PA!

I just got a used 2011 Buick Regal last Wednesday. I came out of a 2007 Mitsubishi Eclipse SE (some may find it odd, but not really). My son is going to be driving soon and, for several reasons, an Eclipse may not be the best vehicle for a very young first time driver. So I gave it up. He gets the Regal, I'll find another daily driver that would get me home-work-home (3 miles) just fine. I was surprised he picked the Buick over his 15 or so shopping list in autotrader. I believe he made the right decision.
Yesterday, I found some (a handful) tiny rocks/pebbles caught in the engine ( in the middle where there is a recessed opening - for lack of better words) and for the life of me, I couldn't figure out how it would get there if the vehicle had not taken a nose dive. Dealership salesguy also can't provide me with an answer. All he says was it checks out fine, no reports of accident (yeah maybe it was not reported). Also I *THINK* I was given the round around today about a possible return (they have a 3-day risk free return policy.) When they finally called up after office hours, I was told the 3-day policy was over because I got it Wednesday and should have returned it today, Friday by end of business. I did helped him count properly like Wed to Thurs = 1 day, Thurs to Fri = 2 days, Fri to Sat = 3 days. I'm going in tomorrow to have the dealership a thorough look of the vehicle, and still if I'm not satisfied, I will return it or if they give the other 2012 model as an exchange, I will do it. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Sorry for the long rant-like introduction.

Welcome to Regal Forums. I have have my turbo for about six months right now. Good luck with the car. Buicks are a great first car. I have seen a lot of previous generation Regals as a teenagers first car. Not a bad choice either.

Kram, also do you know what you are considering for your 3 mile commuter? Cruze, Sonic, Focus, Dart, Verano, Elantra or something larger?
Thanks a lot guys! I'm pretty sure I will learn a lot here about Buicks.
ALMOST everything went well today. I got a 2012 Onyx Black with half the mileage of the 2011 for the same amount. That was great. When we got home, my wife tried to adjust the passenger power seat height adjustment and the switch just collapsed inwards. Oh well, we'll just have it fixed first thing next week. Left the switch recessed inside the seat while traveling and then suddenly the seat just moved upwards on its own..not so good.
Please bear with me for this rather not so good experience I'm constantly sharing. I believe in the next few days, weeks or months of ownership, I will have something rather pleasant to share with you guys.
@ Hitman1970, I do not have something particular in mind as of this moment. I'm thinking, a midsize old beater will suffice.

Cheers!

Congrats on getting the vehicle swapped out. Luckily I have had not initial quality issues on mine.

As I do not know what "old" is for you in the mid-size world. A 2004-2007 Malibu would be a decent ride. I had a 2006 LaCrosse CXS which was a great car. The CXLs had the very reliable 3.8L engine and it give a very smooth ride.

Good luck on all fronts.

Thanks! Considering my finances after this purchase, I will probably consider as old as a 2000 model. No particular brand in mind as of now.
