New Transmission?

3807 Views 6 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  SteffanChloe
Just hit 108,000 miles on my 2011 CXL and my transmission is done. Everything seemed fine, then all at once it started shifting hard then started to loose 2nd and 3rd. Barely made it to the shop.
The shop called me and said reverse is gone completely.

Anyone had to get a new trans yet or have a ball park at what I'm looking at spending?

Appreciate any info.

Dude that sucks! I haven't heard of any transmissions going out. I'm going to guess $1000-$1500, but just a guess. Sorry I can't help much.
Transmission is toast. 3rd and Reverse are completely gone. Dealership wanted north of $4k to replace it, and my local shop was over $3k b/c of the lack of replacement parts that are out there.
After working with the dealership they're now covering 70% of the certified GM transmission, and it also has a new 3yr/100,000 mile warranty.

Sorry your tranny is toast. It's good that the dealer is covering 70% of the cost though and a new warranty.
Another update:

Dealer opened up the trany, and it's just a broken plate.

This means even less cost, but only a 12/12 warranty.

I hope this isn't a sign of things to come. If I start to notice anything out of the ordinary with the transmission, I'm just going to trade it in at that point.
I haven't heard of some of the transmission or just like that of something i guess but it costs like around 1200 to 1300 $

Cooly Rocks On!
