Playing Pandora through smartphone on car stereo

I can not seem to find a way to stream Pandora through my Samsung Galaxy 3 into my car stereo. The cable that connects from my phone to the USB port does not recognize the phone. I had an Iphone 4 and it was able to recognize this phone but not my Samusung. Is there a way I can stream Pandora through bluetooth in my car because this did not work with my past Iphone and was wondering if it ouwld work with my Samsung. I do not want to use the auxillary cable because that just distorts the sound. Any help would be great. Thanks
