Scratch sound from steering wheel

My wife and I test drove Regal last week. Really like the car except there was a loud obvious scratch like sound from steering wheel. It is due to the leather or whatever the material it is steering wheel. The sound is like when you rub your hands together.

Anybody else noticed? Did the noise go away after a while or do you have to get used to it?

Sound occurs when you are turning and the wheel is going back to straight position.

TIA!

No noises here.

ditto
We only noticed it on regal we test drove. The salesman was in the car with us and he said you kind of get used to it. It was rather annoying and we brought it up a few times. We even asked if they had a steering wheel cover for it and he said maybe aftermarket but nothing from Buick so far.

We test drove a sonata earlier and didn't noticed anything.

I must admit it has been a while since I have driven a leather or fake leather wrapped steering wheel.

I will go in and check other regals in a week or so.

It's hard to describe but it may be a deal breaker for us. It is swish swish sound just as you get if you were rubbing the palms of your hands together say to warm up your hands.
Are you talking about the sound your hand makes after you turn? While coming back stright.

Yes. It seems louder because of the wheel cover material (leather?).
Yeah I guess I got used to it fast then. only noticed it because I was listening for it
The past few vehicles that I've owned have had leather-wrapped steering wheels. The noise which the driver's hands can make as they rub against the steering wheel as it is straightening out can be heard, but I guess I'm used to that. Perhaps the noise can't be heard on some cars that have just a plastic steering wheel. I wouldn't let that deter you from owning the Regal. It has been a great car for me and I think you would be getting a much better value over the Sonata.

Good luck!
