As I mentioned in my intro thread, my 2012 Regal does not have a warranty because of a hail salvage title, so I'm on my own for repairs.
I love the car so far, but have noticed that that the tilt lock lever, which on all my previous cars kind of binds as it approaches full lock & then really snugs up to lock the wheel, on this car seems sort of loose all the way to the end of the throw. Additionally, the wheel doesn't lock tight, but rather, it has about 1/4" of up/down play with the lever all the way up to lock.

Has anyone else experienced this? If so, was it an easy fix?

The dealer said there aren't any serviceable parts in the steering column, so they have to replace the whole thing at about $800-900 plus labor which with no warranty is not happening.

I've not had this issue but I can tell you for certain, My wheel Locks tight in place with no movement whatsoever. the Adjustment lever should be flush with the steering column.
