I have a 2011 Regal Turbo and have been having a couple of issues dealing with an uncommanded braking.

It starts when I first put it into drive and start driving. When it happens (so far 3 times in the past month - the last time I called Onstar to do a diagnostics check - no codes) I can tell the car does not accelerate like it should (yes Id prefer the GS but I will not own a car with a black interior here in Texas) and when I take my foot off the accelerator there are 3 things that are noticeable -

1. The car does not coast but it starts slowing (noticeable difference).
2. The brake peddle feels a lot stiffer than normal when I do brake.
3. When I have the driver information center set up to show instantaneous fuel economy, its noticeably lower than what it would be both when coasting, cruising and accelerating.

When its happened, Ive stopped, turn the parking brake on then off, pressed hard on the brake peddle as well and put the car back into park. On the first time cycling the parking brake seemed to help fix it. But the other two it did not. The later two times it would go away after driving a few miles. I used to use the parking brake and thats when it started (yes Id turn it off prior to moving the car). Since it started, Ive stopped using the parking brake.

I only have 24K miles on it and it did not happen before I moved to Texas. I was in an area that did get warm, but not as hot as it does here in Texas so I dont know if its an issue with heat or not.

I have a Buick dealer looking at it and Im getting the impression that they are more concerned with finding codes (which are not there) (for pay purposes - the tech gets paid by the job not but how long it takes to trouble shoot the problem and then fixing it).

I have noticed your first concern on my car as well. It is more noticeable at slower speeds to me. I just chalked it up to gearing and such. I haven't noticed 2. I haven't paid much attention to the instant fuel economy screen lately.

I noticed the acceleration issue quite a few times and it was like WTF???? Most of the time the car took off okay. After my Trifecta Tune it never happened again.

I have 23K on my 2011 T-05 and every mile has been in Texas.

bpwilmoth,

I totally agree with you with the WTF part. It happened one more time on my way into work. Since I couldnt stop by the dealer - not the best of reasons for delaying a departure with 150 passengers and work giving me some grief so I ended up calling the dealer to let them know it happened again and that I wanted it look at when I took the car back in this past Tuesday. Unfortunately, the dealer didnt check for it but rather took care of another issue where they replaced water pump balace shaft chain and timing chain. They also checked the A/C fan belt and replaced the belt and retorqed the tensioner.

I had the same issue on my wifes 2011 CXL. We took it to the dealer a couple of times and they were unable to reproduce the issue. I honestly didn't believe my wife for a long time as it would never happen when I was driving, then one day...it did. I sat down and started searching for anyone else with the problem but didn't really find anything so I starting searching TSB databases and happened across one that sounded all too familiar to our problem. I had a friend that works in a local dealership pull the actual TSB and give me a printout which I handed to the service manager at my local Buick dealership. They made the changes recommended in the TSB and the problem has been resolved since. When the fix was complete, I had just run out of warranty but since it was reported multiple times during the warranty period I was not charged at all....and my wife was given a loaner during the time it took to get the parts in stock. Cannon Buick in Lakeland, FL. Not a bad bunch over there but I wish I didn't have to do the research for them.

Why we, as the consumer, have to dig up data that is already in the dealers systems is beyond me but as in most things, you are your best advocate.
